 VersaTrans Solutions, Inc. Participates in Build-A-Bike Workshop
Nine Bicycles Built for Local Children Participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program
Latham, NY - October 4, 2007 - VersaTrans Solutions recently put forth a company-wide volunteer effort combined with a team building activity at the All Stars Academy in Latham. On Tuesday, September 25, 2007, every VersaTrans employee participated in a Build-A-Bike team building event, facilitated by the Leader's Institute®. The bicycles were then presented to nine local children from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
"Build-A-Bike presented a unique opportunity for VersaTrans Solutions. Not only did it provide a challenging and engaging team-building activity for our whole company, it also gave us the opportunity to donate these bicycles and put smiles on the faces of kids in our community," said Cherri Alderdice, VersaTrans' Human Resources Manager. "Participating in community service is a tradition during our Annual Meeting every fall."
The VersaTrans employees set up shop behind a tarp wall in the All Stars Academy so that the children would be surprised at what was waiting for them. When they were prompted, they entered the arena full of cheering VersaTrans employees to find their brand new bicycles. "Having a bike is a childhood pleasure that many of the kids in our program don't get to experience. VersaTrans understood that. They made a lot of children very happy," said Karen Brown, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region.
 "We very much enjoyed the entire process of proposal, planning and implementation with VersaTrans Solutions. We found everyone we dealt with in VersaTrans to be of impeccable integrity and dependability," said Al Pillarelli, Northeast Regional Instructor with the Leader's Institute ® .

We offer each employee 3 hours of paid time off per month to participate in community service activities," explains Alderdice. Today, employees use those hours to volunteer for Meals on Wheels, local blood drives, Adopt-A-Highway, and several other activities.
