Fort Worth ISD Benefits as Tyler Technologies Strengthens Software Offerings for Schools Market with Education Solution Integration

Dallas, TX – September 1, 2009 —Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that as part of its ongoing commitment to the K – 12 schools market, it has integrated its MUNIS® financial management solution with its VersaTrans® field trip management application. Both are part of Tyler’s extensive range of software solutions for the education market.

Tyler Technologies, which acquired the VersaTrans line of products in 2008 and serves well over 3,000 school district clients, is dedicated to providing the broadest scope of products through continual development and strategic acquisitions.

The integration between Tyler’s MUNIS general ledger and budget and VersaTrans TripTracker® enables seamless field trip invoicing, budgetary control, reconciliation and account management, as well as eliminates duplicate entries.

The Fort Worth Independent School District (ISD), which educates approximately 80,000 students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade and is the 36th largest school district in the nation, is one Tyler client benefiting from the integration of these two products. The district recently implemented VersaTrans TripTracker, making it the first Tyler client to take advantage of the integration.

“Integration of Tyler’s software solutions allows real-time validation of funds, and ensures that the individuals requesting the trip are authorized via the role-based security features of Tyler’s MUNIS system,” commented Kyle B. Davie, chief technology officer for Fort Worth ISD. “Once the trip has been completed, the integration provides real-time accounting between Tyler systems. The new integration provides a better tool for schools in the district to ensure they stay within their budgets and provide a more accurate and timely view of their financial situation.”

Based on the new integration, users of TripTracker can request trips in the system referencing current MUNIS general ledger account balances. This allows budget verification of available funds based on cost estimates. When TripTracker approves the trip, funds are transferred. TripTracker workflow functionality facilitates the entire process.

“Tyler’s latest development project is the result of our ongoing commitment to providing our education clients with the technology they need to operate more effectively,” stated Doug Hamlin, president of Tyler’s VersaTrans Solution. “Our years of service to the school market give us a unique understanding of its special needs. We are focused on continually enhancing our products to meet the changing requirements of our education clients.”
