Tyler District Pulse
An Information Warehouse for Transportation Professionals
|
Empowering Data-Driven Decision Making
Important data is often stored in many applications across the school district. Even within the transportation department there could be separate routing, fleet maintenance, and field trip software. With all of these different systems, the challenge becomes feeding data from each system into one information warehouse so Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are complete and accurate. This process also needs to be accomplished without creating time consuming tasks for the transportation or technology departments.
What is a KPI?
KPIs are specific metrics that help measure the performance of an operation. These metrics are then used as benchmarks, or comparison figures, to determine how the operation compares to last year, last month or even yesterday.
How does District Pulse Work?
District Pulse allows transportation directors, business managers and superintendents to monitor and evaluate transportation-industry standard KPIs with point and click ease. The Pulse engine automatically pulls the required data from Tyler’s Versatrans applications, compiles it and publishes it to web pages hosted on the district’s intranet. Providing the latest KPI results in an easy to learn and use format.
The display used by District Pulse allows professionals to spot trends and identify anomalies in the data which might otherwise have gone unnoticed and therefore unmanaged. Charts and graphs visually show how the operation is currently performing and allows for easy comparison to previous years. While more applications feeding data into District Pulse increase the number of KPIs that can be monitored, districts can still gain valuable insight with as few as two Versatrans applications.
